Family doctors highlight physician leadership and hard work in Times Colonist op-ed

September 21, 2017

The South Island and Victoria Divisions of Family Practice published an op-ed in the Sept. 19th issue of the Victoria Times Colonist, highlighting the work being done by local doctors, through divisions, to improve care for seniors, recruit new physicians, and improve patient access to care.

Residential%20CareThe piece, co-authored by Dr Robin Saunders (chair of the South Island division) and Dr Aaron Childs (GP member of the Victoria division), outlines several individual projects and combined successes achieved by the two divisions as they work to tackle health care challenges on the Lower Island.

The message from Drs Saunders and Childs is that the problems faced by the health care system can’t be fixed overnight, but change is underway thanks to the hard work and leadership of local doctors working together with health care and community partners.
